Oneida selected the best filter media for our product, not the least expensive. Our Spun-bonded filters are more expensive initially but far less expensive in the long run. Why does Oneida Use Izumi Axtar media for your spun- bonded filter cartridges? Izumi offers the highest quality spun-bonded media on the market. The Axtar HO G2260-1S-TR in Oneida cartridge filters is an engineered industrial grade filter media manufactured to meet strict BIA-C rated classifications. 99.9% efficient on 0.2 - 2.0 micron dust! What about filtration efficiency? Axtar media filters the extremely small flour sized material (see filter efficiency tests.) Concerning airflow? Axtar has high air permeability as well as a low initial pressure drop and stays low over many cleaning cycles. That means your fan is pulling maximum air from your tools, not bogging down after a few cleaning cycles.

Axtar also features a Teflon-like bath coating for superior dust release properties. The media is bathed in a PTFE or better known trade name Teflon® to make it very easy to clean. The dust is primarily surface filtered. How durable is Axtar? Axtar is a very durable synthetic material that will last and perform well over many years, not just when it is new. Since the spun bonded and spunmelt composite processes yield continuous filament fabrics, the resultant nonwoven exhibits high strength in the cross- and machine-direction, as well as resistance to abrasion.
