Our patented Super Dust Deputy® cyclone separator is made from heavy gauge cold-rolled steel with a white powder-coat finish. Durable and built to last, the Steel Super Dust Deputy® is ideal for retrofitting 1/2HP – 3HP single stage dust collectors.
With its compact footprint it can be adapted for use in almost any shop, significantly extending the life of your collector and it's filter as it pre-separates over 99% of waste material from the air-stream! Use the cyclone with any size/type/shape dust container (strong enough to support the vacuum) or use our optional 17 Gallon Drum Kit!
Please Note: Reducers need to be crimped on the end fitting into the Super Dust Deputy®. Please specify in the notes on your order which end of the reducer you want crimped, or call 800-732-4065 with any questions.
Single stage dust collectors can lose suction very quickly, especially when sucking up large amounts of fine dust. A cyclone separator, such as the Super Dust Deputy®, use centripetal force to pre-separate over 99% of dust and debris from the air stream, before it reaches your dust collector!
Waste is contained in an easy-to-empty drum below the cyclone. This pre-separation significantly reduces filter clogging, suction loss, and motor strain; allowing you to worker longer, harder, and safer than ever!
Both versions offer identical dust separation performance; the main difference is in durability. While the molded cyclone is formed from an industrial static conductive resin, the metal version is more suitable for use with highly abrasive materials such as rocks and gravel. Both can still be used in any wet or dry application, but the metal cyclone is meant for more industrial use.
Conversely, the molded cyclone is more suitable for outdoor usage, as the resin cannot rust. The powder-coat finish of the steel cyclone, while rust resistant, will eventually corrode over time if constantly exposed to rain and harsh weather conditions.
We include this component to offer further flexibility for our customers as they configure their dust collection setup. The adapter allows for quicker and easier flex hose connections than a raw inlet. This is especially useful considering that there are not firm standards with manufacturers concerning hose dimensions; meaning that a 5" Dia. flex hose is quite often slightly larger or smaller than 5".
As this is unit is a retrofit product, Oneida Air strives to offer our customers the most complete coverage with our products, without limiting its usage in any way.
You're free to choose any type or size container as long as: (1) it's strong enough to support the suction of your dust collector, (2) it provides an air-tight seal, and (3) is large enough to not require you stopping your work frequently to empty it. We've had customers use containers as large as 55 gallon drums without any difficulty.
Oneida Air offers a 17 Gallon Steel Drum Kit specifically for this unit. It includes the drum, a locking lever clamp, and a steel lid with pre-cut holes to mount the Super Dust Deputy®. We also offer an optional Angle Brace Kit that offers further support of the cyclone, useful for customers who have a mobile setup.
