"'Woodturning Design' is one of my favorite magazines. I [also] subscribe to 'Wood' and 'Family Handyman.' I buy Fine Woodworking's annual 'Shops & Tools' issue (love it), and for a few years I was a member of AAW and got their quarterly journal (they appeal to a much more advanced turner than I am).
Next week I’m going to Thailand. Frequently when I travel internationally, I go to lumber yards or listen for buzzing saws in someone’s little backyard workshop, and collect wood to bring home by the duffel bag full. Frequently I don’t know what kind of wood it is, and I am sometimes allergic to it.
I still want to turn it, so I use every precaution, including the dust-control advice written by the founder of Oneida. With my Super Gorilla, I know I'm coming into a clean shop every day and I'm reassured that I have done everything I can to protect my health. I can just go ahead and enjoy the experience without worry!
