Overview

This Intermediate Ductwork Connection Package is designed for systems with 7" inlets such as our V-System and our Dust Gorilla Pro. It includes all of the ductwork you'll need to connect your dust collector to two tools with 4"/5" dia. dust ports simultaneously; Additional fittings (2x Female Hose Connects and 1x Reducer) are provided to convert several other tools to accept the Ductwork Kit's hose quick-connect fittings, allowing you to quickly switch between them to meet your shop's needs.

When installed, the ductwork kit extends a straight line out from the dust collector's inlet and provides two branching points, with the final branch capped off. Drops extend down from these branches and have gates that can be closed off to provide higher airflow to a single tool at once. Flex hose is connected to the gate and can be quickly disconnected and attached to other tools thanks to the Quick-Connect fittings near the tool port. Each tool is connected to the main ducting line with a "drop" assembled in the following order:

Ductwork components will need to be attached and secured using parts and tools not included in this kit e.g. foil tape, hanging straps, machine screws, silicone caulk, etc.

How do you connect 7" Pipe to your Dust Collector 7" outlet? I was thinking of using a 7" x 6" reducer pitting the 6" end into the 7" hole in the Dust Collector.

Our dust collectors are designed to accommodate crimped ductwork fittings in their inlets. Snap-Lock piping and wye joints sold by Oneida Air Systems are pre-crimped at the factory to simplify installations. The crimped fitting fits inside the collector's inlet and should be secured in place and sealed using silicone caulk or foil tape. If you wish to use a reducer, these can be crimped using tin snips or a hand crimping tool.

What's the best way to apply foil tape on ductwork?

We've heard from many customers who've had great success using a simple Wallpaper Roller to smooth out their foil tape, giving a very smooth, clean look on your ducting. The roller helps smooth out air bubbles and crinkled marks while making it easier to get those hard to reach places on hanging ductwork. We do not carry this product but it can be found easily at your local hardware store or home renovation outlet.
