Troubleshooting
How is the filter cleaned if it doesn't have the typical hand crank?
The use of hand cranks that "beat" the filter can damage the filter's pleating material overtime, so our systems are not built with such mechanisms. Click "Read More" to read about recommended filter cleaning techniques.
Why does the Mini Gorilla use an unusual 20A plug and receptacle?
The Mini Gorilla was built to be as powerful as possible but still run on a 110V (115V) circuit. The system draws 16 Amps so it needs to be powered by a 20 Amp circuit. 20 Amp plugs and receptacles are mae to be "mistake proof" and have a different plug/receptacle orientation to ensure the device cannot be plugged into a more typical 15 Amp outlet.
How can I make my wireless remote control work better if it has; limited range, inconsistent results or can usually turn the system on but will not reliably turn it back off?
Wireless signals can be blocked or influenced by a variety of situations. Distance, Obstructions and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) can all affect the signal. If you are having poor peformance with your remote - extending the receiver's antenna wire will often help and is an easy retrofit. Click to read more and for detailed instructions on how to extend your antenna wire.
How flexible is the heavy-duty, vacuum rated hose for the Supercell? What is the minimum bend radius?
The vacuum rated 4" hose, used for the Supercell strikes a balance between flexibility and durability. Because of the Supercell's intense vacuum pressure, some lesser hoses can be problematic or even dangerous since they can "pull" (tighten up like an accordion bellows) when subjected to vacuum pressure. Our vacuum rated hose will prevent this while still allowing the hose to flex. The hose can be bent into a tight radius, around 1-1.25X CLR of the diameter. So for 4" hose, one can achieve a centerline radius of around 4-5". See images. That said, this hose has a strong memory and is wire reinforced. It WILL NOT lie in place when aggressively bent and will try to spring back to a more linear shape if not held in place.

Dust Deputy
What vacuum do you recommend for the Dust Deputy?
The Dust Deputy can be used with any make, model, or size wet/dry vacuum with an inlet ranging from 1.5" to 2.5" in size. We recommend that it has an airflow rating of at least 50 CFM to ensure optimum dust separation performance.
Why is the Dust Deputy Deluxe lid loose on the bucket?
The lid will seal secure under vacuum pressure once your shop vac is turned on, so it's ok for it to be loose! The fit makes this lid easier to take off compared to other bucket lids that might require a tool to remove. Instead, the snap-on tab holds it in place during use and transit while allowing it to easily snap on/off when needed. The lid may jostle slightly on some non-OAS bucket lids, but as long as the rim is flat, the seal will be airtight during use.
Does the 2.5 have the same flange pattern as the original Dust Deputy?
Yes! Both the original Dust Deputy cyclone and the new Dust Deputy 2.5 cyclone share the same bottom flange pattern. This makes upgrading existing cyclone installations quick and easy! You can find printable template files for download in the Documents tab of our product pages.
Can the Dust Deputy Low-Pro be used with Festool products?
The Dust Deputy Low-Pro has not been tested with Festool products. For Festool's CT dust extractors, we recommend our Ultimate Dust Deputy Systainer Cyclone Separator Kit.
I'm having a problem with my Dust Deputy Low-Pro. What do I do?
If you find the Dust Deputy Low-Pro is not performing as it should, click "read more" for additional troubleshooting steps to fix the problem.

Super Dust Deputy
Which Super Dust Deputy cyclone do I need?
If your shop has fixed piping that matches the diameter of your dust collector's intake, choose a cyclone that matches that diameter as well. The collector's horsepower and CFM do not affect the performance of the different models. For more details, click "Read More".
Can I buy the 4" cyclone separate from the kit?
Yes - a standalone 4" cyclone can be purchased here.
What type of dust bin works best?
You can use any shape or size container for your Dust Deputy cyclone. Keep in mind that the smaller the container, the more often you'll have to empty it. The dust container you provide must be able to be sealed airtight for the best performance. Foam gaskets or silicone caulk can help provide an airtight seal. Containers must also be strong enough to withstand the pressure created by your vacuum. For plastic buckets, we recommend at least a 90 mil. wall thickness; otherwise, the container may collapse when in use. Browse Dust Containers
Why do I need a cyclone separator?
Standard single-stage or bag-style dust collectors lose suction very quickly as the filter becomes clogged with fine dust. The cyclone uses centrifugal force to separate dust and debris from the incoming airstream, containing it safely away from the collector. This frees up the dust collector to move as much air as physically possible without hindrance. That means less downtime for filter cleaning, continuously high suction, and significantly prolonged filter life.
What else do I need to get started?
In addition to the cyclone and your dust collector, you will need a reinforced, airtight container to mount it to, as well as flex hose or piping to connect it to your tools and dust collector. The Deluxe kit includes the essential components, but you will still need flex hose and/or piping. Any connections should be sealed using silicone caulk or HVAC foil tape.Shop for Assembly Tools

However, if the hole pattern on the base of your router does not line up with at least two of the holes or slots on the Dust-Free Router Hood, the Router Hood base may be modified in the field. Click "Read More" for instructions. Note: the Router Hood is made from polycarbonate plastic, the same material used for bulletproof windows. It is extremely tough and drills easily without cracking. If you have difficulty customizing the Router Hood for your specific router, please contact our Customer Service Team at 866-387-8822 for assistance.
Will this work with trim routers?
In general, no. There are very few trim routers that have sufficient room to attach the Router Hood's base plate and hose connection. One notable exception is the Dewalt DWP611. Please review our compatibility list for more information.
Can I use this with my router table?
No. This product is designed specifically for use with portable fixed-base and plunge style routers. Router tables require a different mechanism for dust collection.
Can this be used in non-edge routing i.e. through holes?
Yes. For inside edge routing the lower chip cover can be easily detached (no tools necessary) allowing the bit to sink in completely while waste is removed from above the bit.

What do I need to know about NFPA regulations?
Fire protection regulations are a complex and ever-changing set of rules that differ from facility to facility. However, all of Oneida Air Systems' dust collector are NFPA Compliance Ready and we provide best practices and guidance for assisting customers - read our NFPA Reference Guide for more information.
I hear a loud bang/pop from the dust bin when I turn the system on, is this normal?
If the drum of your system is empty, you may hear a loud noise as the metal flexes from the suction pressure created when turning the system on. This sound will stop when material is within the drum and is to be expected.

Filters
How often should I clean the dust collector's cartridge filter?
This can vary widely depending on how often your dust collector is used and what kind of dusts it's exposed to but you should typically clean it only once you've noticed a considerable drop in suction performance. In our experience this can be around once per year, but with heavy amounts of sanding it could be as often as once per month. A meter such as our Filter Efficiency Gauge can also be used to monitor pressure buildup and inform you when the filter needs to be cleaned.
How do I clean this filter?
Clean this filter using compressed air blown from the outside of the filter. Click "Read More" for further instructions.
Why should I upgrade my single-stage filter?
Standard single-stage dust collectors are typically equipped with a cloth bag filter rated for particles 1 micron in size. While effective for trapping some dusts, they still let through the smallest particles that are in fact the most damaging to your health as they can become deeply lodged within your sinus cavities. Additionally, many wood dust have been shown in studies to be carcinogenic. This independently certified HEPA filter captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns (the same level of filtration used in hospital environments) so woodworkers can rest assured that their hobby won't hurt their health.
When should I replace this filter?
With regular maintenance, our cartridge filters can easily last up to 5 years. Your filter should only be replaced if thorough cleanings do not help to restore your suction performance.
Which dust collectors does this filter work with?
The outside diameter of your collector's barrel must measure between 14" to 20-1/4" for the filter bracket to fit onto. A base plate adapter is included with this kit to create a flat surface for the filter to mount onto if necessary. The barrel's inside orifice (which is usually smaller in diameter to prevent dust from below swirling upwards) cannot be bigger than 13" in diameter. Refer to the product's Owner's Manual for more information. Click "Read More" for images.

Ductwork
Do you make custom ductwork components?
No, Oneida Air Systems does not manufacture custom parts to order. Our entire product offering is showcased on our online store and in our downloadable catalog. If a part is not shown in these places, we do not currently offer it.
Is your Quick-Clamp Duct compatible with Nordfab Quick-Fit Ducting?
Yes! As long as the opening pipe diameters are the same, OAS Quick-Clamp Duct components can be combined and used interchangeably with Nordfab® QF ducting and other common clamp-together ductwork products.
What ductwork components work together?
While there are exceptions, dust collection ducting is typically designed to work with other components of the same type (e.g. Standard, Spiral, Quick-Clamp); you will need adapters to combine different types together. For example, if you want to connect your standard sheet metal ducting to newer, clamp together components, you'll need to install Machine Adapters into your standard duct. These adapters will convert your raw, standard duct so they can accept Quick-Clamp components.
How do I install Snap-Lock pipe?
Create pipe lengths by starting at the crimped end and snapping the two sides together. Hold together with one hand and move down the pipe as the seam snaps in. When you get halfway, it should snap fully closed. Click "Read More" for further instructions and images.
Will I need to hire a technician to install Quick-Clamp Duct?
No. Whether you're installing the duct yourself or installing for a customer, Oneida Air Systems' Quick-Clamp Duct is simple enough for anyone to use.

Vacuums
What's wrong with using a standard dust bag floor sanding system?
Bag systems fill quickly, clog quickly, and are extremely dusty. The more you sand the worse your air flow. After about 10 minutes of sanding, there is usually a drop in suction due to restricted air flow, which means leaving behind more material on the floor and in the air. Additionally, more dust on the floor means more work for your sander, meaning your abrasives wear away quicker.
Can I use the Vortex cyclone if my sander doesn't have a dust pipe?
Yes. Oneida Air Systems offer a variety of retrofit handles that can convert older floor sanders to be compatible with our Vortex cyclone separator and dust collection hoses.
How do I install the dome top cleanstream filter?

Place enclosed rubber washer on the threaded post. Secure filter in place with existing filter nut. Do not over tighten. Do not use filter plate supplied with vac. Click "Read More" for important safety information.
How do I install the hole top cleanstream filter?
Remove old filter and clean sealing surface on lid. Carefully slide opening of filter over cage. Push bottom of filter firmly down until it seats on filter post. Secure filter in place with existing filter nut. Do not over tighten. Damage or cracking of end cap due to over tightening is not covered by the product warranty. If they have the same horsepower, what's the difference between the 110V and 220V models?
In general, the 220V model will have lower running amperage than the 110V, which can be an advantage for operators using multiple tools on the same breaker. There is no difference in airflow performance between different voltage variations of the system. You should purchase the unit that best matches the power requirements of your shop. Please note that the NEMA plug type will differ between units. Refer to the Specifications tab for more information.

Hose
How can I combine flex hose together?
Raw dust collection hose can be coupled using our Male-Male Ducting Adapters with minimal loss of airflow performance. The adapters should be secured in place using hose clamps.
How should I cut flex hose?
Our urethane flex hose can be cut to size using a razor knife and diagonal cutters to through the clear lining and reinforcing metal wire (respectively).
It WILL NOT lie in place when aggressively bent and will try to spring back to a more linear shape if not held in place.
What is the actual inside diameter of your ducting flex hose?
All of our clear, ducting flex hose (item #s beginning with DHF) are labeled with sizes referring to their inner diameter and maximum length. i.e. item # DHF060500 has an inner diameter of 6 inches and a maximum length of 5 feet.
Does the hose clamp have holes all around the band?
No. There is a small section near the lock of the clamp where there are no holes. This portion has no holes because that is as far as the clamp can contract.
