A general purpose aluminum foil tape with high tack pressure-sensitive rubber based adhesive. For seaming and sealing fiberglass duct board and duct wrap to enhance appearance and maintain vapor barrier integrity.

Overview

This HVAC Aluminum Foil Acrylic Tape is engineered with an aggressive, long lasting, pressure-sensitive adhesive that demonstrates superior bonding when exposed to both sub-zero and elevated temperatures. The shiny, UV resistant foil backing offers an enhanced appearance, excellent reflective and flame retardant properties, and remains flexible to resist cracking and lifting around irregular or curved surfaces.

When installing duct work, aluminum foil tape is used to seal a joint between two pieces of pipe after the pipe has been fastened with sheet metal screws or pop rivets. You may need to use Silicone Caulk as well to ensure that the seal is air-tight. Please ask an associate for further details.

What's the best way to apply foil tape on ductwork?

We've heard from many customers who've had great success using a simple Wallpaper Roller to smooth out their foil tape, giving a very smooth, clean look on your ducting. The roller helps smooth out air bubbles and crinkled marks while making it easier to get those hard to reach places on hanging ductwork. We do not carry this product but it can be found easily at your local hardware store or home renovation outlet.
