Using a Supercell for Dedicated Miter Saw Dust Collection

"I am a strong believer that to do clean orderly work you need to work in a clean, conducive environment. One of the dirtier machines was our chop saw. We had our Festool Kapex hooked up to a Festool CT collector and we built a shroud with a bottom funneled port going to a larger Mirka dust collector. Still every time we use the saw a plume of dust wafted back.

Now with respiratory health an even greater concern and finally a machine designed with a crazy amount of suction pressure I decided to take care of it. It took some figuring and manipulating beyond what the manufacturer originally designed however with some guidance from Oneida Air Systems as to what to expect we have it working. We still get some dust that flies behind the saw but no dust stays air born or comes wafting back into our faces. I am very happy with my purchase and am currently looking at the next dirty machine to upgrade."

Charles, we're sorry to hear of your disappointment with our Super Dust Deputy cyclone. For tools such as a miter saw with small 1.5 to 2.5" ports you would see substantial improvements to your dust collection with a high-pressure system such as our Supercell. I would also recommend you take a look at our Dust Cobra product line as well. It may be the better fit overall both for portability, performance on small tools, its hybrid function as both shop vacuum and dust collector, and its full-unit HEPA certification.
