Prevents Fine Dusts from Clogging Your Vacuum's Filter!

The only thing more aggravating and time consuming than removing fine dusts like concrete, is unclogging the filter you cleaned it with. The dust gets everywhere and sticks to everything (including your lungs!). The Heavy Duty Dust Deputy® cyclone protects your vacuum filter from even the toughest dusts, including: concrete, silica, metal debris, soda blasting, hot ash/soot, and more!

With the Dust Deputy connected to your dust extractor, you'll save countless time and money on replacement parts and downtime for maintenance as you virtually eliminate filter clogging and suction loss! Our patented cyclone also helps contractors and construction crews become compliant to the new OSHA Silica Dust Safety Standard, especially when used with tools such as handheld grinders that specifically require a cyclone separator.

Included Benefits & Features

  • Steel Cyclone Pre-Separator – Constructed from fully seam welded, heavy gauge steel; finished with a rust preventative powdercoat.
  • High Efficiency – Cyclonic force removes over 90% of fine dusts and bulk debris from the airstream, containing it before it ever reaches the vacuum filter! Efficiency rating is up to 99.9% when used with larger materials such as wood dust, gravel, etc.
  • Universal Design – The Dust Deputy's patented design retrofits to nearly any make/model vacuum, including: Bosch, Dewalt, Ermator, Festool, Pullmann, Pulse-Bac, Ruwac, and more!
  • Quick Change Dust Bin – Includes a reinforced 5-gallon bucket lined with a gasket so the metal lid seals airtight when in operation. Includes J-Bolt latches for additional security.
  • Vacuum Hose & Accessories – Everything you need to connect the cyclone to your dust extractor's 2.5" inlet, including: 3' static conductive, crush resistant hose, 2" to 2.5" hose adapter, 2.5" hose couplers, adjustable hose clamps, and elbows.

Larger cyclone sizes (3", 4", etc.) are available for higher CFM applications. If you can't find what you're looking for, be sure to contact us to discuss your needs with a qualified dust collection technician.

Product Overview
What vacuum do you recommend for the Dust Deputy?
The Dust Deputy can be used with any make, model, or size wet/dry vacuum with an inlet ranging from 1.5" to 2.5" in size. We recommend that it has an airflow rating of at least 50 CFM to ensure optimum dust separation performance.
Does the Steel Dust Deputy have tapered inlets like your resin models?
No. The Steel Dust Deputy has straight 2" inlet and outlet ports. A 2.25" Hose Adapter and Hose Coupler are included with the steel Deluxe and DIY kits to simplify hose connections for customers.
How does the Low-Pro compare to the taller cyclones?
The separation efficiency is comparable between the Low-Pro and original Dust Deputy - both are rated for up to 99.9% of dust and debris. Click "Read More" to learn more about the differences between the Dust Deputy cyclones.
Will the Dust Deputy cyclone work if my tool has its own fan blower?
In most cases, yes - but the cyclone's efficiency will vary based on whether your vacuum is also turned on. The Dust Deputy cyclone needs a consistent airflow rate to "spin" the dust out of the airstream; If your tool's fan blower is pushing air in while your vacuum is also sucking air out, this can disrupt the airflow rate and reduce the cyclone's separation performance. In many cases, the fan blower on tools (such as planers) cannot be turned off. If that is the case for you, try collecting your dust with the vacuum turned off. In doing so you will be creating a positive pressure system as the tool's fan blower pushes air through the Dust Deputy cyclone. This method may not work with every vacuum
Why should I choose the metal version of your Dust Deputy cyclone?
Our steel Dust Deputy models are built for the toughest applications. If you're going to be sucking up large amounts of highly abrasive materials such as metals and gravel, the heavy-gauge cold-rolled steel cyclone will perform better and longer than our injection molded models. It's also ideal if you're expecting to suck up high-temperature materials such as hot coals and ash.
How do I troubleshoot an air leak with my Dust Deputy cyclone?
Even a small leak can significantly affect the overall separation performance of the cyclone. If you can't audibly pinpoint where the leak might be coming from, one of the simplest ways to check for air leaks is with a smoke test. Click "Read More" for further instructions and tips.
Can I use this steel cyclone with smoldering or abrasive debris?
Yes, absolutely. This cyclone is built with heavy-gauge, powder coated steel for industrial applications collecting highly abrasive or smoldering materials e.g. hot ash/soot, blasting powders, concrete, grinding dust, etc. Please note that you should also ensure that your vacuum/dust collector is rated to accept these same types of materials i.e. do not collect hot/smoldering materials if your vacuum isn't normally capable of collecting this type of waste.
Do your steel cyclones have the same separation performance as your resin models?
Yes our steel cyclones offer the same separation performance as our molded resin cyclones.
Is the steel cyclone rust-proof?
In short, no. The steel cyclone has a powder-coat finish, ensuring that it's durable and rust resistant, but if you expect to have your cyclone exposed to water on a regular basis (e.g. exposed to harsh weather, submerged in water, etc.) we recommend you find additional covering to prevent corrosion over time.
What are the minimum specs needed for the Dust Deputy?
Rather than worrying about what specs your vacuum needs (e.g. air watts, cfm, static lift, etc.), we at Oneida Air Systems have a much simpler approach - simply match the size of your vacuum's inlet to the size of the Dust Deputy cyclone's ports. The Dust Deputy cyclone's tapered 2" ports are designed to work with any make and model wet/dry vacuum on the market today, regardless of horsepower, wattage, etc. Most vacuums will have an inlet ranging from 1.5" to 2.5" in diameter - perfect for our cyclone. Keep in mind that every component installed onto your vacuum will have an effect on the system's suction power. That includes your hose, hose attachments, adapters, elbows, couplers, etc.
