I’m retired and spend my days woodworking in my basement shop in Danville, Virginia. I’ve been woodworking since I was about 12 years old. My projects vary, although I’m partial to turning, especially bowls and vases. I enjoy making things for family and friends. Over the years I’ve made curio cabinets, bookshelves, picture frames, mission clocks, hall tables, and even my own kitchen cabinets. I’m always working on something.
I love my Dust Gorilla Pro dust collector from Oneida Air Systems. It is outstanding. It replaced my Delta single stage collector with cloth filter, which couldn’t keep up the demands of my growing shop.
With the Dust Gorilla Pro, the difference in my shop is like night and day. The dust content has diminished greatly. The airflow of the collector is excellent. The filter is fabulous. It captures not only the large stuff, like wood chips, but the small, finer stuff too. The collector really takes care of everything. I mainly use it with my lathe and a floor sweep. I can put the outlet right up to the lathe for dust and chip collection when I’m turning. I also use it with my bandsaw and sander.
You can see the greatness in Oneida’s american-made product. It’s present in everything from the collector’s fabrication, hand-welded seams, and powder-coat paint job to the guage of the steel used to make their sturdy product.
I also purchased my ductwork from Oneida. Their ductwork design service was well worth it to me. I wouldn’t have been able to design a piping diagram myself, so I truly appreciated taking advantage of their knowledge and expertise. They put together a ducting plan that fit my shop’s needs. Everything was laid out for me and the whole system works perfectly. I actually enjoyed putting the ducting together. It was fun.
