Multi-Cyclone DIY Dust Deputy Design Kit

$149.95

Original, patented, cyclone design stops up to 99.9% of fine dusts and bulk debris from clogging your vacuum's filter - eliminating suction loss while saving you time and money on expensive replacements! The Multi-Cyclone kit uses three separators in parallel - ideal for high CFM applications!

  • Neutral-vane technology improves separation efficiency by 20%.
  • Mounts to any size and type of reinforced, airtight container.
  • 5-1/2 foot crush resistant hose features 2.5" hose cuffs.
  • Anti-static components significantly reduce the likelihood of static shocks.
  • Includes detailed installation plans.
  • Customer must supply their own bucket vacuums, dust bins, mounting hardware, and construction materials.

Build Your Own Super Cyclonic Dust Collector!

The Multi-Cyclone Dust Deputy DIY Kit gives you the supplies you need to build your own dust collection system. Using three of our patented cyclone separators in parallel, the Multi-Cyclone kit allows for higher airflow volume without sacrificing separation performance. This stops up to 99.9% of dust and debris from reaching/clogging the vacuum filter. This makes it ideal for shops with multiple smaller vacuums or a single, more powerful vacuum.

This is a one-of-a-kind system for those who love to do it themselves; We provide the essential components and a detailed shop plan while you supply the rest!

Please Note: This kit requires your own materials and assembly. It is not sold as shown in the images. Bucket vacuums are not included, and can be found at your local box store.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • 3/4" Plywood or Medium Density Particle Board
  • Reinforced, airtight dust container with a lid at least 22" in diameter
  • Wet/Dry Shop Vacuum(s) - (We used Shop Vac® Bucket Max in our example)
  • 4" PVC piping (5" length) and a 90° PVC elbow fitting
  • 3/4" Foam Gasket Material
  • Assembly hardware (e.g. screws, bolts, nuts, washers, etc.)

Product Overview
How do I prevent my bucket from collapsing with my Dust Deputy or Low-Pro?
Ensure your bucket is not old, damaged, or thin-walled. To increase the strength of a thin-walled bucket, you can stack two buckets together. Two stacked thin-walled buckets will work well to avoid bucket collapse. Ideally, we recommend a bucket with a 90 mil wall thickness or higher. A 90-mil or higher walled bucket will completely avoid bucket collapse.
What vacuum do you recommend for the Dust Deputy?
The Dust Deputy can be used with any make, model, or size wet/dry vacuum with an inlet ranging from 1.5" to 2.5" in size. We recommend that it has an airflow rating of at least 50 CFM to ensure optimum dust separation performance.
Can you use this multi-cyclone design with a 2HP system?
Horsepower isn't the best indicator for the strength of a vacuum system. The better metric to look for is the CFM (airflow rating) of your vacuum. The multi-cyclone design is ideal for vacuum systems (not dust collectors) with a CFM rating of up to 250 CFM.
What type of dust bin works best?
You can use any shape or size container for your Dust Deputy cyclone. Keep in mind that the smaller the container, the more often you'll have to empty it. The dust container you provide must be able to be sealed airtight for the best performance. Foam gaskets or silicone caulk can help provide an airtight seal. Containers must also be strong enough to withstand the pressure created by your vacuum. For plastic buckets, we recommend at least a 90 mil. wall thickness; otherwise, the container may collapse when in use. Browse Dust Containers
How does the Low-Pro compare to the taller cyclones?
The separation efficiency is comparable between the Low-Pro and original Dust Deputy - both are rated for up to 99.9% of dust and debris. Click "Read More" to learn more about the differences between the Dust Deputy cyclones.
How do you fasten the conductive metal tape to the plastic cyclone?
You'll want to apply the tape so that all three openings on the cyclone are connected by a continuous, conductive path. When doing so, make sure that the tape is wrapped over the edge of the cyclone's ports and that it overlaps the bolt hole on the cyclone's bottom flange. Click "Read More" for further instructions and images.
What is an anti-static material?
Anti-Static (AS) refers to the material's electrical conductivity. AS offer some protection against static charge build-up and shocks, though not to the degree of static dissipative (SD) or static conductive (SC) materials.
Can I use this cyclone with smoldering or abrasive debris?
No. This cyclone is designed for use with light debris such as wood dust. For heavy-duty applications with highly abrasive or smoldering materials, we recommend our steel, Heavy-Duty Dust Deputy kits instead.
How do I connect the Dust Deputy to a snap-on inlet?
Other adapters may be necessary to connect the Dust Deputy to non-standard sized or locking-type inlets. Click "Read More" to see adapter suggestions.
